...and I start back from scratch!!

My life has been a roller coaster (just like most of you!) in terms of weight management. My previous blogs talk about the weight gain post pregnancy and my emotional turmoil along! ...and then came a time when my knees gave up because of overweight and I said, "That's it!!" It was then when I joined a running group and my life changed. The only mantra I followed was "Consistency" and regularly and diligently went for the bootcamps thrice a week!! I didn't realize but slowly and steadily not only did I start losing weight but my food habits improved and so did my run! This time last year I was at my peak having lost most of the weight, happy to fit in "S" size clothes with my confidence at its peak! But as they say, good things don't last longer and my graph started falling. I began with some medications which led to serious sweet cravings and my body could not go to sleep without popping something sweet in my mouth! My daughter's school timings changed and clashed with my bootcamps and once the most regular, my trips to the ground not just ceased but stopped completely. Slowly my motivation, my discipline started dropping and here I stand today with a gain of 10 kgs over last 6 months, lower confidence and size turning to "L".

At my lowest, i realized that sitting back would not help!! Action is the key!! ..and here I am, once again springing back to action!!

So, i resumed my gym today, plan to start my short daily runs from tomorrow and plan to track my meals from this very minute!! So, why this blog?? To keep me answerable, to keep me on my track and hopefully be of some help to few of you as I try to get back in shape, become stronger and re-start my running - something which started as a necessity but later turned into love!

So, here is my tracker for today! Stay tuned, give your inputs and help me become the confident myself yet again!

Note: I am a big fan of Rujuta Diwekar and I shall try and follow her mantra - Eat every 2-3 hours and eat everything but in moderation!! I have done this in the past and it has amazing results!

Day 1: (Weight: 73.9 kgs)

6.15 am: A glass of lukewarm water, one date

7.15-8.30: Gym (Leg day)

8.30 am: A glass of plant protein

9.15 am: 2 Ajwain parathas, achar, tea

11.15 am: 1 Khaja (prasad from Puri temple, brought to office by a colleague)

1.15 pm: 2 Phulka, 1 Bowl Dal Palak

3.15 pm: Black tea with coconut cookies!! (Binged!! Just couldn't resist!)

5: 15 pm: Bijora (Citron in English), Vegetable Pulao (1 bowl)

7.45 pm: 1 Bajra roti, 1 bowl Palak Paneer, Onion salad, 1 Bowl dahi

It may seem quite a bit of food!! I shall gradually work on it and you shall see a gradual transition. For now, I just want to pen down whatever is going in so that I am able to analyze and improve.

I walked around 7400 steps and was active through the day. Besides, I drank close to 2.5-3 litres of water and slept well on time (around 9.15 pm).

Have soaked chia seeds for tomorrow!! More on this tomorrow!!

  1. All the best Neha. Most important step is to start all over again. Not very easy
