Day 124!

Got up with a plan to go for my run but then re-thought and called it a 'Rest Day'. I have been taking off very less and realized my body is getting fatigued with over exercising/ no rest. So, I decided to called December 31st a relaxing day and start again from January 1!

Day 124!

6.45 am: A glass of lukewarm water with 4 powder mix

8.15 am: Tea + sauteed paneer

8.45 am: Pawbhaji (without potatoes)

12.45 pm: 2 ragi root, carrot matar sabji

2.30 pm: Tea +Pastries + Joynagarer khowa (had to end the year with them)

7.30 pm: Sauteed paneer

8.30 pm: Puchka, aloo chat

10 pm: Chilli garlic nooldes, Chilli paneer, kulfi

Ended the year with good food, good memories and waiting to welcome the new year with bigger smiles and brighter memories!

Day 123!

Cold is at its peak and it was quite a brave effort to leave home at 5.45 for the ground training! Jacket was out once I started the run and it was solid 1 hour core training post the run! Hit the gym thereafter and was happy with the super solid 70 mins of leg day!

Day 123!

5.45 am: A glass of water

6-7 am: 2.5 km run + 1 hour of core training

7.30-8.40 am: Gym (legs)

8.45 am: A scoop of whey isolate

9.15 am: Poha + tea

11.45 am: A small gobi paratha

1.45 pm: Orange

2.45 pm: Phulka, chana dal, baigna bharta, dahi, lehsun chutney+ 2 toffees

5 pm: Tea + 2 suhali

8.30 pm: Shared chola bhatura & dosa with Varun & Bunny

10 pm: 2 slice bread with lehsun chutney+some bites of maggi+kulfi

13000 steps, 2 litres of water and late to bed! After all, it is the festive season!

6.50-7.20 am: 4 km run

7.35- 8.45 am: Gym (Upper body)

9 am: A scoop of whey isolate

10.30 am: Prasad for babaji shrad

1.30 pm: Slice of birthday cake

3.30 pm: 2 ragi roti, cabbage matar

5.30 pm: Paneer tikka & 1 mini gulab jamun+papaya

9 pm: 2 kachpri, aloo sabji, vegetable pulao, tempeh+ gajar halwa

A sweet heavy day! Will make up for it! This is the New year week! Thora mitha to banta hai!

14,500 steps, 2.5-3 litres of water and off to bed by 10.15 pm!

Day 121!

Got up very early at 4.15 am for a 10 km run at the Run Utsav event. Had a very disturbed sleep and was expecting my run to be affected badly but finished in good timing and was happy with my performance. Not my best but consistent!\

4.45 am: A glass of water + 2 dates

6-7 am: 10 km run

7.30 am: tea + 1 suhali

9 am: A scoop of why isolate, 2 aloo parathas, chutney+ tea

2.30 pm: Prasad at shrad (choley was my main protein there)

7 pm: Tea+ samosa+ fruit cake, chali

9.30 pm: 1/2 aloo sandwich, kulfi

Low on protein day, more on fats and carbs!

Slept guilty!

1.30 pm: Kachori sabji (home made)

5.30 pm: Tempeh + tea

8.30 pm: Prasad at satsang

14000 steps, 2-5 litres of water and off to bed by 10.30 pm!

Day 119!

I had pre-decided to call it a 'Rest day' as I have been continuously working out for the last 2 weeks without a break! Slept longer and felt much better! While I never want to take rest, one needs to take rest each week for proper recovery!

Day 119!

9.15 am: A glass of lukewarm water with 4 powder mix + 1 kothali kola

10.15 am: 2 methi paratha, green chutney + tea

11 am: 1.5 Idlis+ chutney

1 pm: 2 muri & gur laddoo+ 2 sips tea

3.45 pm: 2 phulka, aloo methi, arhar dal, tempeh, carrots

5.45 pm: Tea

7.45 pm: Khitchdi, rajma, peanut chikki

Less active day, less steps, less water intake but overall a restful day!

Will sleep on time as need to get up well on time for ground training!

Day 118!

Got up all excited as we were to celebrate Christmas on the ground with games and gifts and much more! Reached ground on time and an hour of fun, frolic and pure bliss! Fun-filled Christmas morning- how better could a day start!

5.30 am: A glass of lukewarm water with 4 powder mix + 1 kothali kola

6-7 am: 1 km run + Games 

7.30-8.30 am: Gym (cardio)

8.30 am: A scoop of whey isolate

9.30 am: Tea + 2 suhali

10.30 am: 2 moong dal chilla + green chutmey

12.45 pm: Gond ladoo

3 pm: Sarson saag, makki roti+ tempeh (for protein)

5.45 pm: Tea

8 pm: 3 puchkas, a bite of ice cream (during the Christmas carnival)

10 pm: Sauteed paneer+ Tomato soup

11 pm: Gond ladoo

Spent the evening at the Christmas carnival and it was quite tiring but the kids had a good time! I refrained myself and avoided the junk as much as I could!  I am trying!

Tired me, tired legs!

Day 117!

Last 3 nights, sleep has been disturbed due to Bunny's toothache. Her face is swollen and doctor's appointment is fixed. Got up a little late, thought of calling it a 'Rest day' but then thought better of it and went for a 4 km run followed by a strong 1 hour recovery and upper body training at the gym!

Day 117!

6.45 am: A glass of water + 1 banana

7-7.30 am: 4 km run

7.40-8.40 am: Gym (Upper body)

8.45 am: A scoop of whey isolate

9.45 am: 2 methi parathas, green chutney + 1/2 cup tea

12 noon: Papaya

2 pm: 2 ragi roti, mixed veggies with soyabean, tomato as salad

3 pm: Paan

5.15 pm: Plum cakes & 1.5 boiled eggs

9 pm: Gond ladoo+ 1 suhali+1/2 burger

16,000 steps, 2 litres of water and not so early to bed!

It was an amazing day at work! We had the 'Secret Santa' and we were as excited as any kid could be! I was gifted my favourite by my Secret Santa - Chocolates!!..and I refused to share them with anyone!

Lots of plum cake which I ate guilt free because this is one time celebration of the year!! Bidding all Merry Christmas, left for the day- a happy soul!

Day 116!

Last 2 days Bunny has been having severe toothache and so sleep has been a little disturbed! Nevertheless, I got up well ahead of time as I could attend the bootcamp today from start, it being Bunny's holiday! Was the first one to hit the ground at 5.35 am! 2.5 km of run and some strength training before we broke down to celebrate the much awaited TSK25 completion and to hear the success stories!!...and no celebration is complete without cake and food! So, there was a home-made cake by a home baker, khatu ka peda, the world famous "Rawat ki pyaz kachori", tea to top it up and home made chocolates, too!! We ate guilt-free because we all not just deserved it, we all very well earned it!!

I was in two minds about going to the gym but then realized doing something was better than nothing and so headed to the gym and did some quick recovery session of about 35 minutes! The last 2 days of recovery sessions have been helping me a lot. While the other 25 kms are still yelping in pain, I am feeling much better and my not-so sore muscles are thanking me for the stretches!

7-8 am: Celebrations with lots of food and lots of fun!

8.05-8.40 am: Recovery at gym

8.45 am: A scoop of why protein

9.30 am: Beetroot, amla, carrot juice + 4 badam

10.30 am: Christmas fruit cake brought by a colleague

1.45 pm: 3 thin phulkas, yellow moong dal, bhindi

4 pm: Sauteed paneer + 1 black tea

7.30 pm: Rice, green moong dal, tempeh, salad+ 1 gond ladoo

3 litres of water, 13600 steps and off to bed on time!

Day 115!

While I assumed it would be a devastating Monday morning on waking up, honestly it was not that bad! I woke up at 6 am and went for my recovery run and it was quite pleasant. An hour's gym after that with mostly stretching and mobility to ease my tired muscles!

6.30-7 am: 3.5 km run

7.20-8.20 am: Gym (stretching and mobility)

8.45 am: A scoop of why isolate + 4 badam

9.30 am: Beetroot, amla, carrot juice

10.30 am: 2 Suji chilla + green chutney

11 am: Black tea + 1 cheese biscuit

1 pm: 2 roti, mixed veggies with soyabean, cucumber

2 pm: Tiny winy bite of birthday cake + 1 healthy nuts & chocolate English brittle

4.30 pm: Guava & sankh aloo

6 pm: Celebrated TSK with 1/2 bowl mushroom soup and pizza

7.30 pm: 1tiny paper cup lemon tea + 1 coffee (toooo cold)

9 pm: Gond laddoo!

11000 steps, 2.5 litres of water!

Day 114!

Finally it was the morning of TSK25! Got up at 3.30 am and left by 4.15 am to reach the ground on time. Though it was not my best race and I took longer time than last year, it was a beautiful 3 hour plus journey. The weather was beautiful with cold winds blowing in and no sign of the sun! A ride across Kolkata, not on any vehicle but on my legs was a feeling I shall hold close to my heart! Finally, the much awaited event got over and so did all the buzz around it!

Day 114!

4 am: A glass of lukewarm water with 4 powder mix + 1 banana+ 2 dates

6-9,15 am: 25 kms run (Gel, oranges, peanut chikki, red bull, fast & up on the way)

9.30 am: Banana

11-12 noon:  Snacks in the bus

12.30: A scoop of whey protein

12.45 pm: 1 gobi paratha+ tea

1.45 pm: 1/2 cheese sandwitch

2.45 pm: Rice+ aloo dum

5 pm: Electrolyte

5.30 pm: Tea+samosa+2 suhali+1 gond ladoo

7 pm: Papaya

8 pm: Chowmein (home made)

36000+ steps, 3-4 or may be more water and off to bed on time!

Day 113

Today being a Saturday, joined the clan on time, ran 2.5 kms and did some cool-down. Tomorrow being the BIG DAY, one is not suppose to tire the body today and just open the legs a bit!

2.30 pm: Sauteed veggies with tempeh, chola, 1/4 roti

5.30 am: Tea & sweet potato tikki

7.15 am: Khitchdi

Off to bed by 8 pm! Need to be up by 3.30 am tomorrow morning!

2.30 pm: Rice, rawa (mini rajma), dal, lauki sabji, papad, cucumber

5.45 pm: 1/2 cup tea, papaya, sankhaloo

8 pm: Sauted veggies with tempeh (15 gm protein in tempeh)

2 litres of water, 5,500 steps only and off to bed on time!

Also had a relaxing massage to ease my sore muscles!

Today, after ages, I did Interval training of 4 kms! It was such an amazing feeling. I should do it more often now! Ran into running buddies on my way to the gym, went for chai and idli adda with them but then did not skip my gym!

2 litres of water, 13000 steps and off to bed by 9!

Got up fresh but with legs hurting. Went for strength training on the ground after dropping Bunny and then hit the gym post that! A good morning workout!

Day 108!

So, it was an amazing 11+km run today making it 2 consecutive 10+ kms back to back! So now my taper week starts from tomorrow for me to I hit the 25 km mark on Sunday! Need to eat well, hydrate well, exercise and run less and take lots of rest! I don't know how much of this is possible but will try my best!

6.15 am: 1 glass of lukewarm water with 4 powder mix + 1 kothali kela

6.35-8.05 am: 11.26 km run

8.20-8.40 am: Gym (just stretched and cooled down my legs)

8.45 am: A scoop of whey isolate

10.15 am: Healthy chocolate mousse made from oats, banana, dates, peanut butter, chia seeds, cocoa powder and milk!

1.30 pm: 3 thin phulkas, chana dal, aloo pyaz, cucumber

2.45 pm: Black coffee (simply too drowsy)

4.45 pm: 2 boiled eggs

7.30 pm: Rice and gobi sabji

2-2.5 litres of water, around 21.5k steps and off to bed early!

Had to tie my leg and sleep due to sever ache because of consecutive 2 days of running long distance! However, that was the plan- to run again on tired legs!

Day 107!

Got up with a plan to do a slow and steady long run! It was a beautiful cold morning and I thoroughly enjoyed my run. In fact, I felt strong and realized that I could have run couple of kilometers more! Planning to hit another 10 kms tomorrow morning before I start tapering for my 25 kms next Sunday!

6.05-7.35 am: 12.19 km run

9 am: 1 gobi paratha + 1 bowl dahi

10 am: 1 scoop whey protein

11 am : Tea

2.30 pm: Beetrrot, amla, carrot, tomato and ginger juice

5 pm: Tea, millet namkeen, muri

8 pm: Rice & kali dal

20k steps, 2 litres of water and a happy self!

Today was Bunny's sports day- she has been so eagerly waiting for it! So, after my run and Yoga, i dropped her to the bus stop and rushed to get ready to reach school on time so as not to get late!

6 -7 am: 3.15 km run followed by Yoga

7.30 am: A scoop of whey protein

9 am: Tea, 2 aloo parathas

12 noon: Participated in the Parents' Tug of War and was part of the winning team! Award- a cake by "Cakes"! Enjoyed that with 4 bites of dosa

1.30 pm: Tea (severe headache due to teh scorching sun at the field)

2.30 pm: 3 thin phulkas, baigan bharta, carrot aloo sabji, green chutney

5.30 pm: Tea

7 pm: Tea & 2 spoons of homemade nutella (as instructed by Bunny) + 1 khajla

9.15 pm: A bowl of rice and paneer

Got to get up early tomorrow for my LSD! So off to bed on time!

7 pm: Upma + Moong dal mixture

9.15 pm: Dal, papad

A clean day in comparison, 2-2.5 litres of water and 10k steps!

Day 104!

Had a grueling 3 day week with the Board members visiting Kolkata. So, it was all about presentations, meetings and lot of talking! Today is no exception with a meeting at the British High Commissioner followed by a networking dinner. I am as excited as I was the last 3 days! This is what keeps one going - some grill, some serious talks, some acknowledgement, good opportunities and off course some fun!

6.16 am: A glass of lukewarm water with 4 powder mix + 4 badam

6.30-7 am: On ground TABATA- a full body high intensity workout! It was amazing!

7. 30 am: Chai adda with running buddies (cheated with 2 milk bikis)

7.45-8.45 am: Gym (Mobility training)

9 am: A scoop of whey protein

9.45 am: Tea

10.30 am: Overnight soaked oats with mixed seeds, chia, mixed nuts, banana, peanut butter, desiccated coconut, cocoa powder, honey and milk

11 am: 1 piece club kachori, sabji (brought by a a colleague)

2 pm: 3 small ragi rotis, soyabean sabji

6 pm: Tea & a cookie

7 pm: Some starters and juices at the conference party

10 pm: Tomato soup, Vegetable pulao & green chutney

Super tired, long day and late to bed!

Got up as usual for the daily chores and then went ahead to attend the Admin's birthday after running just 0.5 km but made it up with 20 mins of on-ground training and a hour 20 minutes of workout at the gym! Enough to keep me happy!

1 pm: 2 oatmeal cookies in between the meeting

8 pm: Rice, green dal, gobi, papad

12k stpes, 2-2.5 litres of water and off to be by 9.30 pm!

It was a no-run day for me though I intended to go to gym but gave it a skip! It calls for a rest once a week at least and today was the day!

1 pm: Biscuits (someone just made me have it and I could not say no)

8.30 pm: Rice, red chana, dark chocolate

Completed 10k steps, drank 2-2.5 litres of water and went to bed by 9.30 pm!

Sunday was a complete cheat day! Not that I don't cheat otherwise but yesterday was an exception! Hence, excluded from my accounting! But yes, yesterday was Kiddathon and my Bunny ran 1,5 kms!  Her excitement and my happiness were a thing to watch! Had an awesome mama-daughter morning with lots of fun, lots of play, small fights but beautiful memories!

7.40-8.15 m: Gym (Upper body)

8.30 am: A scoop of whey isolate + 4 badam

11.30 am: Black coffee + a bite of khaja (Prasad from Puri temple)

5.30 pm: 3 phulka, mixed vegetable & 1 tomato

A busy day, gynaecologist's appointment, tests, meetings and so on and so forth!

Got up at 5.15 a, and after ages went to ground for a full blown training. I have to miss most part of it on week days due to the time clash with Bunny's school timings and Saturdays I am often late. However, this Saturday I made it on time and was happy about it!

12 noon: 1/2 glass sattu

2 pm: Little dal, chawal, aloo sabji

3.30 pm: Black coffee

6.30 pm: Papaya, sauteed paneer

9.30 pm: Rice, dal palak & bhindi

Walked for around 20-25 minutes post dinner and then off to sleep!

The soreness , though reduced is still there. Its largely the knees which seem to have frozen. I guess good diet and time will gradually ease it.

Quite a few cheat meals today I know! Will keep it cleaner the rest of the week!

Day 95!

It's strange that after such regular runs and a regular workout and some check on my diet, I put on 3 kgs! I really need to visit my doctor to check for any hormonal issues!

6.40-7.15 am: 4 km run

7.30-7.50 am: Gym (stretching)

8 am: A scoop of whey isolate + 4 badam

9 am: Tea

9.45 am: Overnight soaked oats with apple, mixed seeds, nuts, desiccated coconut, peanut butter, cocoa powder, dark chocolate, honey and milk

11.45 am: Pear and orange

1.45 pm: 3 phulka, ghugni

3.30 pm: 2 boiled eggs

7.30 pm: Rice, baigan bharta, ghugni, papad

Wound up the work quickly and went off to bed by 9.30 pm!

Day 94!

The day of my first Half Marathon of the season!! The reason i came back from my trip a day earlier!

5.30-8.30 am: 21 kms run!

9 am: 1 sandwitch, poha, 1 dili chutney, tea, 1 spoon suji halwa, little soaked chana

11 am: Tea

2.15 pm: Family lunch at 'Sambar Street' on Bunny's insistence (Did take care to include chole, paneer and the like)

5 pm: Tea + 2 biscuits (after ages)

7.30 pm: Rice, kali dal

A soar body and drowsy eyes! Off to bed by 8.30 am!

Late to bed, early to rise! Got up at 6.30 pm, missed my Saturday training but went for a run just for a km and hit the gym post that!

8 am: 3 idli, sambhar chutmey, tea + 2 bites of kachori sabji (Clan monthly birthday celebration)

3 pm: 1 bowl of dal rice, 2 phulka, palak muli saag

5 pm: Tea

8 pm: Khitchdi

Went off to sleep by 9 pm! 21 kms tomorrow! Looking forward!

Day 92!

The time to go back has come. One last meeting this morning before we head back to India.

Day 92!

7.30 am: A glass of lukewarm water with 4 powder mix

9 am: Buffet breakfast (Muesli, fruits, juice, nutella bread, boiled egg, black tea)

2 pm: Airport lounge (pasta, noodles, fruits, hot chocolate etc.)

4.30 pm: The food platter, as usual, in the flight did not  tempt me and I just fruits, bread & jam

8.30 pm: Mocha, cheese sandwich, 1/2 oatmeal raisin cookie

10.30 pm: Ate some rice, 1/4 roti, bhindi and gravy in the flight along with some raota & sheera

Reached home at 12.50 am and went off to school!

Day 91!

Had a troubled night, difficulty in going off to sleep and sleep broke dup quite early. Kept fidgeting in the bed and finally went off for a run at 8 am. A good run followed by a healthy breakfast!

7.30 am: A glass of lukewarm water with 4 powder mix

8-8.30 am: 4.25 km run

9.15 am: Buffet breakfast (Muesli, fruits, freshly squeezed juice, bowl of chole, a mini cup of mango smoothie, 1/2 toast and 1/2 cup of black jasmine tea)

1.15 pm: Lunch with an Australian client at an Indian restaurant named "Bambaiya".  I finally got India jaisa chai after 4 days! Such relief, such satisfaction! We shared Cheese chilli toast, Gobi paratha, Chaat platter and Masala Papad!

6.30 pm: Mochaccino with tofu during the client meeting

9.30 pm: Papri chat, Rajma, Mixed vegetables, rice, garlic naan + Lassi

Last night at Indonesia and last night to watch web series till late!

All in all, it was a good visit. Looking forward to the next soon!

Day 90!

Got up with Bunny's video call - a daily ritual before she leaves for school. Had planned to go for a run but could not get up! I really need to go running as I have 21 kms on coming Sunday and some bit of practice is definitely required. Hope to go tomorrow!

Today I complete 3 months of my blogging on my daily diet! It has not been the best but it has led to creating consciousness in me to some extent. Hope to make the next 3 months cleaner and turn fitter!

Day 90!

7.30 am: A glass of lukewarm water with 4 powder mix

8.45 am: Buffet breakfast largely of healthy stuff like, fruits, fresh watermelon juice, muesli and a bit of indulgence in the form of Nutella bread (again because of lack of vegetarian options)

12 noon: An orange, a pear and some grapes

2.15 pm: Dal khitchdi, pineapple juice, peanut chikki

6.30 pm: Coffee, chana, peanuts

9.30 pm: Kulcha, dal, paneer (Client dinner)

Watched web series for a while and had a difficulty going off to sleep.

Day 89!

A good night's sleep and meetings to look forward to!

Day 89!

7.30 am: A glass of lukewarm water with 4 powder mix

8.30 am: Buffet breakfast the hotel (Tried to keep it healthy with muesli, fruits, juices and some indulgence in the form of Nutella bread not only because I had less vegetarian options but because I was missing Bunny, too (Nutella being her favourite!)

1 pm: Olio Agio (one of the only vegetarian option at the restaurant

4 pm: 1 cup of coffee with moong dal

5.30 pm: Apple

6.15-6.55 pm: Gym (Upper body)

8.45 pm: Diner invitation by colleagues at Jakarta. Had a protein rich dinner of Jeera rice, dal, paneer and chole, finally ending it with mango ice cream

Got some "me" time back at the hotel and watched web series after ages! Such happiness, such satisfaction!

Also great hospitality by the hotel with a complementary food platter sent to my room! Indonesians by nature are extremely polite, courteous and friendly, wearing that big smile on their face all the time! Jakarta and its people have definitely touched my heart! Long to come back even before I have left!

Day 88!

The day started at the beautiful Kuala Lumpur airport where we grabbed a coffee from 'Dunkin' while we waited for our next flight to Jakarta. Boarded the next flight after a "no sleep" night and bunked the meals again just like the last flight. Though Asian vegetarian, the food, somehow,  did not tempt me enough. A slightly delayed flight but a beautiful city to land on. Indonesia is somewhere in between India and the Western world and, thus, has a beautiful mix of both the worlds. Further, while the city is home to the most beautiful buildings (mostly 40 storey and above), the entire city is lined with huge trees, giving a majestic view of green lining throughout. All in all, a beautiful city to visit barring a little difficulty with food and language as the country is strictly non-vegetarian, The local language 'Bhasa,' though foreign, is greatly influenced by Hindu heritage due to the Sanskrit influence on the same. The Sanskrit influence came from contacts with India long before the 1st century. So, lot of Sanskrit words used in Indonesia, called "loanwords", are an integral part of Indonesian vocabulary - a great time pass deciphering them while one waits in the long traffic (yes, another similarity with India)!

Day 88!

8  am: Coffee (a switch from my usual hot chocolate)

10 am: Some fruits from the food tray and that's about it

11.30 am: A herbal welcome drink at the Manhatten hotel at Jakarta

2 pm: A bun and butter before I headed out for a meeting

5 pm: Indian thali from the Indian restaurant "Man aur Tan' for an early dinner before we packed up for the day! Lots of protein in form of dal, paneer, mixed vegetables and salad!

Called it an early day and was off to bed at 8 pm (6.30 pm in India) only to eb woken up at 11 pm with my Bunny wishing me Good night!

The awesome 15 kms!

It was a beautiful morning with super awesome weather! Got up at 3.45 am to be able to leave by 4.25 am as the run was on the other side of the city! As my performance has not been like last year due to weight gain and lack of enough practice, I targeted a time higher than last time! But the weather supported and so did my legs and I managed to finish my run way ahead of my expectations and achieved my Personal Best so far! However, the most amazing thing was that I could run comfortably, was not struggling and thoroughly enjoyed the run and the route! All in all, a super amazing morning!

Day 87!

4.15 am: A glass of lukewarm water with 4 powder mix, apple, date

5.40- 7.25 am: 15 km run

8 am: The most coveted breakfast at CSC after completion of the run

9.30 am: A scoop of whey protein

12 noon: Home made poori aloo

3.30 pm: 1 phulka, moth

5.30 pm: Tea

7.30 pm: Sandesh

9 pm: Sauteed paneer, 1 bowl bhaji

11 pm: Some healthy, protein heavy stuff at the airport lounge

1 am: Seviyan & a glass of orange juice (The Indian food in the Malaysian airlines could not tempt me and I chose to give it a skip)

Night spend in the aircraft to land at Kuala Lumpur early in the morning!

More travel awaited before I reach my final destination!

9,000 steps, 2 litres of water and a disturbed sleep!

A long 15 kms tomorrow  - the CSC run, one of the best runs in the city!

Day 85!

It was finally the day of Bunny's concert! Had a very disturbed sleep and got up very early. Woke Bunny early, too, as I had to dress her along with make up! Such a cute sardar she made with a bun on top of her head! Despite I had to reach school on time to take a good sear (as per Bunny's instructions,  I managed a short run and gym, too!

Day 85!

6 am: A glass of lukewarm water with 4 powder mix

6.40-7.10 am: 3.5 kms of run

7.20-8.am: Gym 

8 am: A scoop of whey isolate

9 am: 2 suji chilla, chutmey, tea

12.30 pm: A bite of khasta kachori (in the car offered by a friend)

1.15 pm: Sweets! (Was famished and the first thing I got hold was sweets! Balram Mullick and gur- a deadly combination)

2.15 pm: Chana chawal

5 pm: Tea, naan, dal, allo sabji, generous quantity of onions

8 pm: 1/2 samosa

9.15 pm: Naan, paneer, little biryani & a sweet (I had decided to skip dinner - the reason as to why I had proper meal at 5 pm but the tempting food broke my resolve😟

15,000 steps, lots of food and tons of guilt!

Day 84!

Sleep broke before 4 am and found it difficult to get back to sleep post that! Nevertheless, it was a fresh morning! Gradually, the swelling has reduced, sores are healing and I am feeling much better! This new born love to take care of meals and eat clean (despite some cheats here and there) is very empowering. The motivation to workout increases manifold, awareness leads to conscious eating and helps choose healthier alternatives promptly! Hope this is not short lived and that I can make my fitness journey a way of life!

6.30-7 am: On ground training (Drills with equipment)

7.20-8.20 am: Gym (Lower body with cardio)

9.15 am: Tea (I completely forgot I already had 1/2 a cup of tea in the morning)

10 am: Overnight soaked oats with chia, banana, nuts & mixed seeds, peanut butter, desiccated coconut, cocoa powder, dark chocolate, honey and milk

10.45 am: Chena sandesh (prasad one of the colleagues got)

1.30 pm: 2 oats roti, beans, aloo gobi, 1 small slice of cake

3.30 pm: Chikoo, sitafal

4.30 pm: Paneer pasinda, kasundi(

8 pm: A feast! Super lavish dinner and the most mouth watering sweets to end with (Mom dad's 50th anniversary celebrations and what fun it was!)

Walked post dinner to complete 10,000 steps. Tried to sleep early but somehow struggled to sleep. 

I guess the 'naan' and the 'kali dal' were dancing in my tummy!!

Got up much before my alarm buzzed and was all fresh after a good night's sleep. After dropping off Bunny to the bus stop, ran for sometime before I hit the gym! A good and satisfying start to the day!

2.45 pm: A slice of cake - International Men's day celebration!

7 pm: 1 lachcha (aata) paratha, dal, paneer, onion

9 pm: Samosa (I got kachoris for everyone but did not touch them but when Mumma got samosas, I could not tell her a no)

Called it a rest day and despite putting on my running shoes, missed the run!

6.15 pm: Papaya, 1 sweet potato & beetroot tikki + chutney

9 pm: Dal soup

Called it an early day and was off to bed by 9.15 pm!

Day 80!

It was a super early morning with the 16 km event! Got up at 4.15 and was out of the house by 4.50 am! Not prepared enough, with multiple injuries, a little scared but determined to complete the run, come what may!

4.45 am: A glass of lukewarm water with 4 powder mix, 1 banana, 1 date & 4 badam

6-8 am: 16 km run! I finished it! Not my best run but not my worst too!

8.30 am: 1 banana

10.30 am: Upma & tea

12.20 pm: Kachori sabji + tea

3 pm: Lunch/ snacks at a birthday party

6.30 pm: 1/2 slice cake, 4 spoons of biryani with dal, 2 spoons of noodles, 2 spoons of gajar halwa

8 pm: 1/2 paneer paratha

Had a sore body, severe headache and severe itching on my wounds but my heart was full. I was finding it hard to believe that I had actually managed to complete the 16 km run despite lack of practice and a sore body- only because I wanted to!  Tired body, happy soul!

Day 79!

Got up and ran a km to check how terrible I felt around my neck, It pained but little did I know that horrible pain was awaiting for me through the day. So, as the day progressed, all the honey bee bites started swelling and I had severe itching around them. Day went by in talking to doctors and running after medicines but the itching was simply terrible. However, despite all of it, I managed to attend my Buddhism meeting and that one ray of hope amidst the dark clouds.

Day 79!

6.30 am: A glass of lukewarm water with 4 powder mix + 1 date

7-7.10: A km of run

9 am: Assorted pakoras (Paneer, methi, palak, gobi, aloo, baigan), green chutmey + tea

1 pm: 2 thin dal parathas, aloo sabji + 1/4 cup tea

3.30 pm: 1 orange

5.30 pm: Tea

9pm: Rice & green dal

So, finally tomorrow is my 16 km run! Though I am not prepared, though my neck is hurt, though the itching is terrible - I have decided to go for it! Keep me in prayers!

Got up to a beautiful cold, winter morning with the best weather for a good run! I, however, have accepted that it is my rest week and that I need to recover to be ready for my 16 km run on Sunday!

5.15 pm: Sauteed paneer

9 pm: Beetroot & sweet potato tikki and Atta & jaggery cupcake

9,500 steps, 2 litres of water and off to bed on time!

Got up feeling extremely extremely low. Such a depressing feeling of being stranded at home with such a beautiful cool weather outside. After dropping Bunny at the bus stop, went for a 30 minute walk to breathe in the fresh air but it did nothing to make me feel better! I hope I feel better as the day progresses!

11.45 am: Forced to take a coffee or else I would simply dose off

2.45 pm: 2 phulka, cabbage sabji, dahi, salad (cucumber, carrot)

6 pm: Tea

9 pm: Dal soup (& a tiny bite of chocolate)

8500 steps, 2 litres of water and slept off by 10.15 pm

Got up annoyed with the realization that I would have to miss my run and gym today as I could not take chances with my scar getting sweaty. Was all lost as to how to while away that time which is so-called my "exercise time".

Day 75!

It's been a week of accidents. The honey bee accident on Sunday which has left my face and eyes still swollen and again the twirling of my dupatta in the wheels of the rickshaw leading to peeling off of my skin from the throat this morning on my way to office! A near miss! Repercussion- No running, no gym for couple of days and that is my main reason of concern, With 16 kms just 5 days away, I really needed this week for practice! But as they say, few things are beyond one's control! So may the best thing happen!

Day 75!

7.20-7.40 am: 3 km run

7.45-8.30 am: Gym

5 pm: Sautéed paneer

9 pm: 4 bites of phulka with bhindi (Bunny didnt finish this) + 1 glass of haldi milk (to reduce my pain) 

Slept off, in quite a bit of pain but I am sure all will be well!

The travel week!

So, the week from November 4th to 9th was a roller coaster with field visits planned in the interiors of Chhattisgarh! The onward journey was an absolute experience with the team starting at 3 am in the morning to have Tea in East, Breakfast in North, Brunch in South and finally Lunch in Eastern India! It was an airport hopping session from one state to another till we finally landed at Jagdalpur and drove next day to Bailadila where we spend our next 4-5 days doing mine visits and enjoying high protein rich food at the guest house! I managed a run, too, one of those days and such a satisfying experience it was!

November 9th shall remain etched in my memory not for merely visiting the "Chitrakut waterfall", known to be the Niagara Falls of India but for the honey bee attack on me leaving me all bruised, almost shrieking in pain, landing at a hospital to receive 3 injections at one go before I managed to catch my 2 subsequent flights to reach Kolkata!

So, Day 74 starts for me from today!

8 am: Tea + 1/2 toast

3.15 pm: 2 phulka, Rawa (the black eyed younger sibling of rajma, also known as lobia, chawli, barbatti etc.)

5.15 pm: Tal makhana

7.30 pm: Chat date with Varun; shared a moong dal chilla & a plate of papri chat

9 pm: Haldi wala Milk

15000 steps, 2.5 litres of water and early to bed!

Got up late for my ground training and missed the run but enjoyed the rest of the drills with equipment. Post the training, the team went for a cup of tea. Chai to bas ek bahana hai, baith ke thoda waqt bitana hai! Hit the gym post that and it was, thus, a very energetic morning!

11.45 am: A bite of besan laddo as prasad

1.15 pm: 3 thin phulkas, mixed vegetables with soyabean, cucumber, dahi

4.45 pm: Tal Makhana

7 pm: So, it was "Street food date" with Varun after ages! Though I had rajma chawal planned for my dinner but I did not have the heart to say him no! Ended with sweets too😔

Around 15,000 steps, 2 litres of water and off to bed early! These days I am feeling extremely tired by 8 pm and as sleepy as a rock! Probably need to consult a physician once!

Got up fresh with 8 hours of proper sleep, ready on take on the day! Had anticipated my weight to have increased massively given the huge intake of sugar and other savories during the Diwali season but was relieved to see the weight standing somewhere close by!

6 am: 1 glass of lukewarm water with 4 powder mix + 1 kothali kela

6.35-8.25 am: 6 km of run + Core at Gym

8.45 am: A scoop of plant protein

9.45 am: Vegetable poha + tea

1 pm: Networking lunch at ITC Royal

3 pm: Tea & 1 biscuit

6 pm: Tikia chola

9.30 pm: 2 phulka, paneer sabji +1/2 aloo paratha

Around 12,000 steps, 2 litres of water and a relaxed day!

Day 68!

I was feeling extremely lethargic on my way back from office yesterday and kept sleeping on and off in between taking care of Bunny till I finally went off to sleep by 9 9.30! Called it a 'Rest day' this morning! Pledging to take care of my food today though!

Day 68!

8 am: 1.5 moong dal chilla, green chutney+ Tea

11 am: Apple

2 pm: 2 oats roti, mixed veg with soyabean, cucumber

4.45 pm: Sautéed Paneer

It was a good day with multiple meetings, couple of presentations and planning for the upcoming travels. Happy with my diet today. Finally managed to bunk sweets today!

7000 steps, 2.5 litres of water and off to bed by 9 pm.

So, finally I ran after 8 days!! 5 km and a comfortable run! In fact I can say I enjoyed it! Managed to get up and attend the ground strength training, too (given that it was Bunny's holiday).

5.50  - 7.30 am: 5 km run + On ground strength training

9.45 am: Oats smoothie with banana, mixed seeds & nuts, chia seeds, peanut butter, cocoa powder, desiccated coconut,  dates and little honey churned with milk

11 am: Black tea (too drowsy)

1.30 pm: 3 ultra thin & small phulkas, sukha aloo, cucumber

3.30 pm: Tal makhana

5.30 pm: Apple

6.30 pm: 2 club kachori & sabji

8.30 pm: 1 phulka, dal, bhindi + rosogolla

2.5 litres of water, 14000 steps, off to bed early!

Got up to a lazy morning and skipped gym today. Feeling refreshed after a very long time! Plan to make up for it by going for a run in the evening! 

Its been 65 days but I am standing almost on the same weight!! Time to really work on my diet and move southwards!

6.15 pm: Talmakhana + 1 biscuit

8 pm: 3 thin phulkas, lauki, ghugni

It was a very early morning with the alarm buzzing at 4.15 am and in 30 mins, I had hit the road to report for an event!

8 pm: Sauted paneer

I am missing Vedu a lot - his zig zag walk, he identifying me as "masi", the way he caught our nose, the way he "dabao sar", the way he smiled and so many other little things!

Day 64!

Last 3 days have been a roller coaster with crazy fun, loads of food and family time! Actually first 2 days and the 3rd one was a recovery mode still loaded with lots of sweets and chocolates! I shall give them a miss in my journal as I want to save myself from the embarrassment of reading the loads of sweets and savories I consumed! The move to absolute healthy food would be a slow one, taking another 3-4 days considering the house is filled with these sweet nothings and trust me, when it comes to sweets & chocolates, I am definitely not the most strong will powered one! But yes, I did make it a point to attend my gym as much as I could so as to balance out!

Day 64

7.30 am: Got up to a cup of tea unlike my usual 4 powder concoction as my body was too tired and had refused to adhere to the alarm which buzzed at 5 am for ground training!

8.30-9.30 am: Gym (Arms)

9.30 am: A scoop of protein powder

11 am: 1/2 cup tea + Vegetable sandwich

12.45 pm: 1/2 paratha +aloo matar

3 pm: 2 phulka, pakodi ki kadhi + 1 sweet+ 1 chocolate

6 pm: Puchka, jhuri bhaja (We were at Bunny's ABACUS annual concert and these were the only options available)

8.30 pm: Pizza (Treat for Bunny)

Was too tired and went off to sleep as soon as I hit home!

Missing family terribly! Festive season brings all of us together and its time of the year when we spend the most amazing time together with lots of gossips, leg pulling and fun and then suddenly its a draught of meeting my favourites and a wait for the next season when we would be able to relive the same moments again! Unfair but the hard truth!

12 pm: 1 tiny naru (cocunut and jaggery ladoo made by Bengalis during Lakhsmi puja - trust me it's delicious)

1.30 pm: Team lunch

7.30 pm: Tea, & buns, 1 murukku, 1 khari biscuit

Off to bed early as was feeling quite sick due to lack of sleep! Fever and paracetamol and then an early sleep!

Got up before the sun was up but the whole lane was illuminated with bright and colorful lights and it was a sight to behold!

8.30 am: 1.5 vegetable uttapam with chutney & sambhar + 1 rice chakli

10.30 am: Tea

12.30 pm: 2 parathas with aloo sabji + 1 club kachori

3.30 pm: 1/2 phulka, aloo beans, cucumber

4.30 pm: Tea & 2 biscuits (the energy source for the Diwali preparations ahead)

6.30 pm: Tea & 1 khasta kachori

8 pm: Sweets (The indulgence after the year long awaited puja)

10.45 pm: Peas pulao, aloo gobhi and some more sweets!

...and then a night of fun, frolic and lots of gossip!!..Sibling time is the best time in the world! You can just be yourself - no judgement, no boundaries - its all #BeyondLimit!!

Less movement, less water - the week of indulgence, the week of "no routine" and the week of fun!

It was a LSD day and I was finding it so difficult to even get up!! But then LSD cant be missed and I was up and running by 5.30 am!

7.30 am: 1 cup of tea with running mates

8 am: A scoop of plant protein

9 am: 1/2 cheese sandwich

12.30 pm: 2 oats vegetable chilla + ketchup

5.15 pm: Tea

7 pm: 1 aloo tikki, Paneer sauted

8 pm: Hoem made custard (Choti diwali hai, Mitha to banta hai!)

17,000 steps, 2 litres of water, lots of diyas and patakhas!

 Got up to the morning of dhanteras, filled with guilt with 2 days of binge eating! Determined to work out harder and maintain my diet today! However, reached late for ground training but put in my best!

3.45 pm: Dahi, papad, Rice chakri (2), Millet & Jaggery chikki (1/2)

The small Dhanteras puja was so much fun seeing Bunny's excitement who later screamed in glee on seeing the firecrackers! Overall a good day!

So, finally I put on my running shoes after more than a week and ran for 4 kms! Feeling good but tired! Any gap in training leads to quick fatigue and exhaustion! Nevertheless, I plan to stick on now!

My monthly cycles started and I missed the long run today!

10.30 am: Breakfast at chachu's place (he called and asked us to join him for breakfast and off course I could not refuse)

2 pm: Tea, bread poha

3.45 pm: Rice, rajma, aloo gobi

5 pm: Tea

8 pm: Dinner party

It was a day well spent - breakfast with family, shopping for Bunny, meeting my little Vedu and my sis & brother-in law and ending the day with the family get-together! God is kind!

2900 steps only and less intake of water! Promise to be better disciplined going ahead!

It was the morning after karvachauth and moon uncle had troubled a lot last night, leading to late to bed and was, thus, having a lot of difficulty waking up the next morning for my on-ground training which was at 5.35 am. I , somehow, managed to reach by 6.30 am as I was warned not to miss the monthly birthday celebrations post the training!

10 pm: While the rest of India was privileged to see the moon much earlier, the heavy rain and cloudy weather hid the moon in Kolkata. Broke the fast and finally had water!

Slept late, around 8000 steps and off course hardly any water!

Finally resumed gym after ages!! A little disappointed as the weighing scale showing half a kg increase in weight! I was hoping it to fall since I had been running quite a bit but I guess more effort required. I shall try harder!

Day 48!

Today is Lakshmi Puja and we observe a fast which we break in the evening after seeing a star! Behold, its a 'no water' fast! Yes! Like a mini karvachauth! So, I got up at 4 am in the morning before the sun was up to eat but what I most longed for was 'Tea' post which I went back to sleep! The gym opened today but I gave it a miss! Bunny's school opens on Wednesday and so I got up again at 7.15 am feeling very relaxed!

6 pm: The benevolent star came out and I broke my fast with sweets! Had tea, & snacks later

8.30 pm: Puri, aloo, bhujia

3 pm: Family Lunch at "Sambar Street". We planned to pick up Bunny from her Abacus class, took her to Lenskart to order new pairs of glasses and treated her for lunch outside but I bet, I enjoyed more than her!

7.15 pm: 4 bites of roti with dal (side effects of feeding Bunny)

8.45 pm: 3 home-made idlis + sambhar + 2 spoons maggi + 2 mini pakoras

More than 20,000 steps, 2-2.5 litres of water!

The office re-opens tomorrow after a week long holiday and so does the gym!

I sincerely hope that this entire ritual of exercising, trying to be aware of what I eat and then jotting it down becomes a habit and that I keep improving in terms of clean eating, exercising, staying fit and inspiring many others!

Went for ground training and did some pandal hopping during the run! It was fun!

2 pm: Chawal, lauki vadi, dahi

8 pm: Street food during pandal hopping

10 pm: Rice, aloo dum, ice cream

Around 12000 steps, 2.5 litres of water.

Day 38!

Got up with guilt for being on high calories last day! Promise to try and keep it low today!

Day 38!

6.15 am: 1 glass of water with 4 powder mix + 1 banana

6.35-7.15 am: 5 km run coupled with pandal hopping (managed to see the Sreebhumi puja)

7.30 am: A scoop of plant protein

8.30 am: Tea

9.15 am: Oats smoothie with banana, chia seeds, pumpkin, flax & sunflower seeds & date

11.15 am: Handful of nuts & seeds

12.45 pm: Roti, soyabean & veggies sabji, cucumber

2.45 pm: Pujo lunch from office. Avoided the rice beyond 2-3 spoons, had the paneer

4 pm: Black tea & cheese cookies

8 pm: Chole, chawal +cake

14500 steps, 2.5 litres of water and in bed on time!

Day 37!

It is Navratri's day 4 and the colour for today is 'Yellow'. So my run today was in a yellow tee and off course I shall follow the tradition of wearing the colour to my office, too.

Day 37:

6.15 am: 1 glass of lukewarm water with 4 powder mix + 1 date

6.35-7.05: 4.20 km run

7.15 am: 1 scoop of plant protein

8.30 am: Oats smoothie with banana, date, seeds and little honey

10.30 am: Black tea & handful of nuts & seeds

12 noon: 2 Sandesh , that, too, from Balram Mallick!! Could not stop at 1!!

1.30 pm: Dunkel Braun Cheesecake and coffee!! (Please ignore today's diet! Its like a double cheat day! There is more cake waiting at the end of the day, given it is Varun's birthday! Moreover, it is Puja time and thora cheating to banta hai!!)

3.45 pm: 2 quinoa roti, veggies & soyabean sabji, cucumber

8.15 pm: Birthday cake & puchka

9 pm: Birthday dinner

Around 14,300 steps, 2.5 litres of water and in bed on time!

Day 36

The water subsided to quite an extent and it was possible to go for the run without getting my shoes wet (like yesterday), though I went late as Bunny's school had declared a holiday today, too.

Day 36:

7.30 am: One glass of lukewarm water with 4 powder mix + 1 date

7.45 - 8.15 am: 4.35 km run

8.30 am: A scoop of plant protein

9.30 am: Tea

10.45 am: Overnight soaked oats with banana, pumpkin, flax & sunflower seeds, milk & some honey

2.15 pm: Team lunch

6 pm: Dhokla and little jalebi

9.30 pm: A bowl of dal soup

2.5 litres of water, 115000 steps and off to bed by 10!

Day 35

It rain profusely the entire night leading to severe water logging in entire Kolkata. I got up at 5 am to figure out about Bunny's school and by 5.45 am, the notice came that the school was off. I, however, could not go back to sleep. After ages, I picked up a book - "I am Malala" and read through. Cant express the happiness I felt after reading for an hour or so - absolute bliss to be able to read again, though with my spectacles on this time!

It was not possible to go for my run, gym has been shut for 10 days. Due to excessive water logging because of incessant rain entire night, going to office was out of question. So, had little option but to stay indoors.

Day 35:

7.30 am: 1 Kotahli kela

8 am: 1/2 cup tea

10.30 am: Puri aloo + tea

1.30 pm: Rice, rajma

3 pm: Cake

5 pm: Tea

6-6.25 pm: 3 km run

7 pm: 1 scoop protein powder

9 pm: Rice, rajma, bhindi

Around 6000 steps, 2 litres of water and off to bed by 9.45 pm

Navratri Begins!

The auspicious festival of Navratri - the festival of Maa Durga is here! I have been following the tradition of wearing "Navratri colours" all 9 days and I have a section of blogs dedicated to it! Do take out some time to read! My running group, too, came up with this unique concept of Navratri run wherein runners have to run at least 3 kms each day in the colour specific to that Navratri day and thereafter tag themselves on social media! A beautiful rainbow theme medal awaits them at the end of it all! So, the enthusiastic me, I, too have registered for the same and began my Navratri with a run!

Day 34:

6.15 am: 1 glass of lukewarm water with 4 powder mix + 1 kothali kela

6.30 - 7 am: 4.30 kms of run

7.15 am: A scoop of protein powder

8.30 am: Tea

9.15 am: Overnight soaked oats with banana, chia, mixed seeds and milk

11.15 am: 1 Chocolate chip cookie😜 + Nuts & seeds

12.30 PM: The Birthday cake slice! (Office ritual every few days)

2 pm: 2 quinoa roti, paneer bhurji, beetroot

3 pm: Black tea

5.15 pm: 1 samosa, 1/2 jalebi

7.30 pm: 1 aloo bonda

9 pm: 4 spoons of rice and dal

Around 12500 steps, 2,5 litres of water and off to bed on time!

Day 33

Got up at 3.45 am for the running event at New Town! Body was sore but was determined to do the run irrespective of the pace and timing! ..and I managed to finish it. Though not a strong run but a run still!

Day 23:

4.15 am: 1 glass of lukewarm water with 4 powder mix + 1 kothali kela

5.30- 6.50 am: 10 km run!

7.15 am: 1 banana+ 1 lassi + 1 yoghurt

9 am: Tea

10 am: 1 aloo paratha, achar, tea

12.30 pm: Guava

2.15 pm: Rice, aloo matar, cucumber

6 pm: Tea

8.30 pm: Muri

20,000+ steps and 2-2.5 litres of water! Sleeping off early due to sever bodyache!

Day 32

I got up with a sore body due to a fall in the gym yesterday! But will to attend training was stronger. I was asked not to run today by my trainer as we would be doing "legs". I actually reached late for the training and missed the run and joined for yoga and core/ strength training, post which i hit the gym

Day 32!

5.30 am: 1 glass of chia with 4 powder mix + 1 kothali kela

6.15 - 7.15 am: Ground training (yoga + core/ strength training)

7.45 - 8.45 am: Legs at gym

9 am: 1 scoop of plant protein

10.30 am: Dal paratha, achar, tea

1.30 pm: 1 phulka, bhaji, cucumber

5 pm: Tea & cake

7.30 pm: Dal, chawal

9.45 pm: Custard

Need to sleep off! 1 10 km run tomorrow and need to be up by 3.30 am!

Beginning of a new month!

It is September 19th - my Vaanya's birthday! It's start of my second month to my regime! I weighed myself today and I have lost exactly 2 kgs in the last 30 days! Happy me! I am more determined to carry this on and get stricter if possible!

Day 31:

6.45- 1 hour 45 min of Plyometrics (was asked by my trainer nit to run today)

8.30 am: A scoop of plant protein 

9.15 am: Tea

10.15 am: Upma

12.15 pm: Guava

2 pm: Dal ka poori & aloo dam

4 pm: Bunny popped a candy in my mouth

6 pm: Ice cream

7.15 pm : Birthday cake

8 pm: Birthday dinner

Had 2 birthday cake cutting but constrained myself and ate cake only once! 8000 steps and 2 litres of water! Ground training tomorrow!

...and one month is over!!

A very early morning flight,  rushed morning and a "rest day" for my exercise regime!

Day 30:

5 am: 1 glass of lukewarm water with 4 powder mix

7.15 am: Poha + Tea ( First time over so many years, I opted for Poha instead of my favourite 'Indigo' maggi - see I am trying!!)

11 am: 2 Small samosas, banana slice cake, 1 cookie & tea (I was famished and these were all that were available!)

1.30 pm: 1 wheat roti, little quantities of dal, paneer, methi matar and gobi, papad, pasta salad and some dessert

4.15 pm: Tea, 1 cookie, 1 paneer pakora & 1 spinach pakora, 2 cubes of fried idli, mint chutney

9 pm: Dal chawal, tea

Reached home by 10.45, 6500 steps and hardly 1-1.5 litre of water!

Not the perfect diet!

Have to make arrangements for my little one's birthday! She's turning 7 tomorrow!

Day 29!

Got up a little late (5.50 am) and it felt nice without the alarm buzzing off! No rush and slowly I got ready to do a 5 km run today as gym is closed due to Vishwakarma Puja and I plan to go and donate blood post my run!

Day 29:

6.15 am: 1 glass of lukewarm water with 4 powder mix + date

6.20 am- 7.05 am: 5.5 km run!

7.30 am: 1 plate idli, chutney, sambhar, 1 slice malai toast + tea

10 am: Coconut water

11.45 am: 1/2 besan ladoo  + 1 Motichoor ladoo (Vishwakarma Puja's prasad)

1.45 pm: 1 quinoa roti, ghugni

3 pm: Bengali khichuri, 1/2 cube alu dom (I specially requested my office staff to bring this prasad from downstairs on seeing it getting distributed! I cant explain what a delicacy it is! Satisfied to the core! Best meal of the day!)

4 pm: Black tea

5 pm: Sauted paneer (100 gms)

8 pm: Oats & banana smoothie, 1/2 phulka & little ghugni

17000 steps, 2.5-3 litres of water!

Have an early morning flight to catch!

Day 28!

Wet ground, beautiful weather - perfect setting for a good run! Today I joined the bootcamp training with 2.62 kms of Interval training (Mix of fast & slow) followed by strength training. My body is not hurting as much despite the fall (thanks to the painkiller I guess) and I am glad I could come for my exercise regime!

Day 28

5.30 am: 1 glass of lukewarm waters soaked with 4 mix powder + 1 date

5.50 - 7 am: 2.62 km of run + strength training

7.30 am: Tea with the team

7.40 - 8.40 am: Gym (pull)

8.45 am: A scoop of plant protein

9.45 am: 1.5 sattu paratha with little mitha achar

2 pm: 1 quinoa roti, moth

3.15 pm: 1/2 apple, bijora

4.45 pm: Tea, sauted paneer (100 gms)

7 pm: Dadaji ka shrad prasad

Around 12900 steps, 2 litres of water. No school tomorrow on account of Vishwakarma Puja and so the alarm clock is off!

Recovery run day!

It is a 'Recovery Run' day post Sunday's Long & Slow Run (LSD) and the pace is to be slower than LSD pace. Recovery runs are usually 20-25% of your LSD runs. So, I targeted running 3 kms, given my 13 kms of LSD yesterday.

Weight: 72.8 kgs

Day 27

6.15 am: A glass of soaked chia & 4 powder mix + 1 date

6.50- 7.15 am: Run of 3 kms

7.25- 8.25 am: Gym (Push)

8.30 am: 1 scoop of plant protein

9 am: Milk, muesli & tea

11 am: Dry fruits with seeds

1 pm: 2 quinoa roti, paneer bhurji, dahi, beetroot

3 pm: Tal makhana + 1 slice guava

4 pm: Black tea

5 pm: Onion rice

8 pm: Rice, dal, dates & nut barfi, 2 spoons tikia chola

13,500 steps, 2 litres of water!

Had fallen in the bathroom today morning while taking a bath; have taken a painkiller but I hope i can make it for my ground training tomorrow as its is Bunny's PTM and I can hit the ground for the training!

Right now, I need to finish filing my IT return!

Sunday Long Run day!

So, Sunday happens to be a long run day! Today was an event of 10 km and while I was unsure if I would be able to do that considering the gap I have had lately, I ended up kicking 13 km! Happy self, happy Sunday!

Day 26

5 am: A glass of soaked chia & 4 powder mix + 1 date

5 - 6.45 am: 13 kms run!

7.45 am: Idli, chutney, 1/2 vegetable sandwich, sugarcane juice, banana & tea (There was chole bhature, vada & jalebi, too, in the buffet that was served after the run but I skipped those)

9.15 am: Tea

11.15 am: 1 plain paratha, lauki sabji, tea

2.15 pm: Rice, dal makhani, bhindi, dahi

6.15 pm: Tea & plan muri (puffed rice)

8 pm: 1 Veg vada paw (no cheese, no mayonnaise). 4 puchka (On Bunny's extreme insistance)

10 pm:  Milk & murunda

20,000 steps, 2 litres of water - Good night!




Day 25!

While I was very regular for my on-ground bootcamps, with Bunny's school timings clashing with the same, I try to make it on Saturdays and any other school holidays. So, today was boot camp day which meant getting up at 5 am!

Day 25

5.30 am: 1 glass of lukewarm waters soaked with 4 mix powder + 1 banana

5.40 - 7.10 am: 3 km run + Core exercises

7.15 am: 1 scoop of plant protein powder

8 am: A cup of tea

10 am: 1 1/2 green moong dal chilla + green chutney + tea

12 noon: Pineapple juice (no sugar)

2.30 pm: 1 1/2 wheat lachcha paratha, dal makhani, paneer

3.30 pm: Soda sikanji

5.45 pm: Tea

6.30 pm: Papaya

9 pm: Milk & murunda

14,100 steps & 2-2.5 litres of water!

Day 24!

So, there was a running event today in which I could not participate due to clash with Bunny's school timings.  Nevertheless, after dropping Bunny I ran to and fro till the event, was part of the group photo, had a cup of tea and hit the gym!

Day 24:

7 am: Tea

8.30 am: 1 scoop of plant protein

10 am: Oats smoothie (oats, bananas, dates, chia, seeds & nuts mix, little honey and milk)

1.15 pm: 2 oats roti, mixed veg, cucumber

3.15 pm: Tal makhana & 1 guava

4.30 pm: Roasted millets + dry fruits & seeds mix (was feeling very hungry)

6.30 pm: Rice, arbi, dates & nuts barfi

Around 14000 steps, 2 litres of water and went to bed very early!

4 .15 pm: Oats pudding (oats, chia seeds, mixed seeds & nuts, banana, milk & honey refrigerated overnight)

7.30 pm: Dadi's shrad's prasad

17200 steps, 3 litres of water and in bed by 10!

Beginning of Week 4!

I choose to omit yesterday from my daily blog. It was my father's shrad and the day passed by in rituals and pujas. So, I start the 4th week from today!

Day 22

6.15 am: 1 glass of soaked chia seed + mix of 4 powders soaked overnight + 1 banana

7.10-8.40 am: Whole body work out (and hence no running)

8.45 am: 1 scoop protein powder

9.30 am: Poha + Tea

12 noon: Dry fruits & seeds mix (handful)

2.30 pm: Lunch with team outside 

4.30 pm: A small slice of birthday cake

5.45 pm: Black tea + Paneer pasinda + Mushrooms

9 pm: 1/4 phulka, 1 spoon bhindi, 1 spoon mixed veg

Around 13500 steps, 2 litres of water and in bed by 10!

End of 3rd week!

Had a disturbed sleep, got up with swollen eyes and the was further de-motivated by the gym weighing machine which showed a kg increase in my weight!! The trainer assured me that it was merely because of water retention due to excess salt intake. I really hope that is true!

Day 21:

6.15 am: 1 glass of soaked chia + mixed powder + 1 date

6.50 - 7.20 am - Run

7.25- 8.35 am: Plyometrics in gym

8.45 am: 1 scoop plant protein powder

9.30 am: Milk & Muesli + Tea

11.30 am: Handful of seeds + dry fruits mix

1.15 pm: 3 thin phulka, aloo sabji, dahi

3 pm: Black tea, 1 cookie, tal makhana

4.30 pm: Blueberry and dates cookies

6.30 pm,: 3 idlis & chutney, 1/2 protein bar, dahi

9 pm: 1/2 bowl dal chawal, dates & nut barfi

Around 16000 steps and 2 litres of water!

Day 19!

Got up at 5.15 am for ground training! Super humid weather with winds refusing to blow!

Day 19:

5.30 am: 1 glass of lukewarm water with a spoon of 4 spices grounded and mixed (ajwain, jeera, methi dana,saunf) + 1 date

5.40-7.10 am- 2.5 km running +Yoga and core

7.30 am: 1 scoop plant protein

8.15 am: Tea & 1/2 cheese sandwich

9.45 am: Tea & upma

1 pm: 1 apple

2 pm: 1 plate club kachori and a bite of balusahi (pest control at home and kitchen was closed)

6 pm: Little maggi and tea (today my diet has to be excused😟)

8.30 pm: 2 phulka, moth, rajma

9.30 pm: Treated myself with pista ice cream, after 12 hours of hard work!

3 plus litres of water, will try to sleep by 10 - have my long run today!

Day 18!

 It was Bunny's school holiday today and so I rested for an extra hour and hit the gym at 6.50 am. It was a "leg day" at the gym and hence no running today! Started with my Personal Training (PT) at the gym!

6.30 am: 1 glass of lukewarm water, 1 banana

6.50 - 8.10 am: Gym 

8.30 am: 1 scoop of plant protein

9.15 am: 1/2 cup tea

9.45 am: 3 boiled eggs

12.45 pm: 2 wheat roti, mixed veg, cucumber

4 pm: Black tea & makhana

4.45 pm: Carried away by choco cookies at desk (regretted after 1 minute😔)

6.30 pm: Onion rice

8400 steps, 3 litres of water and off to bed very very early!

6.30- 7.05 am & 7.45 am - 8.25 am: 5 km running, 40 min of "Pull" at the gym (in between attended a birthday but refrained from eating any of those cake, pastries, chocolates and samosa)

7.30 am: Tea

8.30 am: 1 scoop protein powder

10 am: Overnight Soaked oats in milk with mixed seeds, chia, banana and a dash of honey

1.15 pm: 2 oats roti, arbi sabji

3.15 pm: Black tea +1 biscuit (I tend to feel too sleepy at this hour of the day in office)

5.30 pm: 1 apple, little tal makhana

7.30 pm: Dal, chole

15,600 steps, 2 litres of water and off to bed by 9.30 pm!

11.30 am: Mixed Seeds

1.30 pm: 2 Oats roti, paneer bhurji, beetroot

2.30 pm: Black tea (terribly drowsy- super awesome weather) with a coconut cookie

3.30 pm: Slice of birthday cake (I know too many birthdays in office and the greedy me😔😔)

5.30 pm: Tal makhana

9,30 pm: Dal, chawal, Gobi aloo, Dates & nuts barfi

Around 10,000 steps and 2.5 litres of water. Off to bed by 10.30 pm!

Beginning of 3rd week!

So, my 3rd week on this weight loss journey and healthy lifestyle begins!

I got up to a 'not so bad' weather and ran for 4 km followed by 20 minutes of core at the gym! Satisfied and happy! Yesterday I had restricted myself to just one cup of tea! Let's see what today holds!

Weight: 72.6 kgs

Day 15

6.15 am: 1 glass of soaked chia seed water

6.30- 7.20: Run followed by gym

8.45 am: Idli upma, Tea

11.30 am: Bijora

1.45 pm: 2 oats roti, aloo soyabean sabji, cucumber, dahi

4 pm: Tal Makhana + Dark chocolate

6 pm: Moth

8.30 pm: 3 ultra thin & small phulka, toru sabji, 1/2 cheese sandwitch, 1 dates nuts barfi (was feeling ravenous)

13,000 steps, 3.5 litres of water and in bed by 9.30 pm!

Day 14!

I had my routine blood tests planned today and so I had been fasting for 12 hours! Had a disturbed sleep and went for the tests at 7 am after dropping Bunny at the bus stop! Took it as a 'Rest Day" post the tests and skipped running & Gym today!

Day 14:

8.30 am: Vermicelli pulao, Tea

9.45 am: 1 glass soaked chia seed water, 1 banana

1 pm: 2 buckwheat roti, baigan ka bharta

3.45 pm: A small slice of coffee cake (birthday celebration of a colleague)

5.30 pm: 3 paneer pakoras (the birthday treat)

8 pm: 1 aloo paratha

9.30 pm: Milk and murunda

8600 steps and 3 litres of water! Off to bed at 10!
